Downshire Riding Club
Compete together, ride together and have fun together
About
Downshire Riding club is a friendly, family-oriented club in the heart of County Down. We run a variety of lessons, fun leagues and selection nights for NIRC events at selected venues. See our Events page for details. We're fortunate enough to have some great instructors who regularly teach for us, including Claire Steele, Jonny Steele, Claire Sedgeman, Joanne Jarden, Toni Donnelly, Jim Newsam, Karen Dixon, Rachelle Harding, Leah Knight, Sharon Jewhurst and many others.
We are supportive and welcome all ages and abilities. We have an active junior section of the club, and we're pretty competitive in both dressage and show jumping, with many wins and placings at Interclub and NIRC events. We also like to nurture our Grass Roots riders and green horses with special grass roots lessons (depending on demand).
We are affiliated to British Riding Clubs and the British Horse Society, and we take an active part in all NIRC (Northern Irish Riding Clubs) events.
Rules and Constitution
Downshire Riding Club operates within the Rules and Constitution as laid out in this document. All members are encouraged to read these.
